One-Family-Owned!
This 1965 Porsche 356SC coupe was built on March 15, 1965 and delivered new to Vasek Polak of Manhattan Beach, California, where it was purchased new by the current owner's father. It is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in black over black leather. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, disc brakes, body-color bumpers, twin engine grilles, front bucket seats, a cabin heater, and an analog clock. Work in preparation for the sale consisted of fluid changes, a rebuild of the fuel pump, and replacement of the tires, fuel hoses, steering coupler, and spark plugs. This 356SC coupe is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, a copy of the Kardex, the owner's manual, service records, and a clean California title.
This Karmann-built body came finished from the factory in black and was repainted in 1996. Features include a windshield washer system, an underside front tow ring, twin engine grilles, and body-color bumpers with bright guards. The 15″ steel wheels were mounted with 165SR15 Michelin XZX tires in November 2025. The car was factory equipped with disc brakes at each corner, and the brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale. Koni shocks are installed.
The front bucket seats and rear jump seats are upholstered in black leather, and interior appointments include a body-color painted dashboard, a cabin heater, and an analog clock. The steering coupler was replaced and the gear shift linkage repaired in November 2025. The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel features a bright horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.6-liter 616/16 flat-four was factory rated at 107 horsepower and 91 lb-ft of torque and was rebuilt in 2015. The starter motor was replaced in 2023, and more recent work in preparation for the sale consisted of an oil change, a rebuild of the fuel pump, and replacement of the ignition points and spark plugs. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts.
Engine stamping *813783* is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Kardex. A photo of transaxle number 86322 is provided in the gallery. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, which was rebuilt in 2000. The clutch was replaced in 1995. The copy of the Kardex shows factory colors, serial numbers, and delivery information. The Porsche Production Specifications certificate is viewable in the gallery.
